Negative bias refers to the persistent, harmful and unequal treatment of someone based solely on some characteristic they possess or their apparent membership in or identification with a particular group.

Diversity awareness and inclusion means recognizing and responding to the needs of various groups within the workforce to improve working relationships within our organization and teams. Creating an inclusive team environment that values diversity helps us achieve our organization’s goals – both cultural and financial.

Getting to know your patients, including aspects of their sexual and gender identity, behavior, and desires is key to providing quality care. It is important that you respect a person’s privacy and how much of their private life and decision to transition they want to share with others.
