Regardless, leaders must understand that if their style is creating friction or impacting employee engagement, it's time to consider changing the way they lead. The leader’s role is typically well defined. Managers and supervisors are in the organization to engage their staff - and to foster a culture which balances and attends to both…the work and the people.

Work-life balance and general well-being is something all of us want in the workplace. The perfect balance between work and life varies for each person and it changes depending upon our life circumstances. Well-being is fundamental to our health and overall happiness. That includes a healthy work-life balance. New generations in the workplace see well-being as an integral part of their lifestyle.

Let’s face it, treating people differently in employment, based on things like age, can be unlawful. Bias based on age is a reality – and can be subtle or blatant. Ageism in the workplace has to do with people being discounted because of their age. This happens when someone is seen as too young or too old to tackle a specific task or requirement.

This interactive course will assist you in dealing effectively with the individual and cultural differences that impact relationships with co-workers, customers and others that are critical to the success of your organization.

Today’s inclusive and respectful workplace culture means that the ability to practice your religion and religious traditions is up to you. Being respectful of that means not bringing religions into conversations inappropriately and not disrespecting colleagues based on their religious practices or religious dress.

Having a diverse workplace is very important. But until we are inclusive – meaning that we truly include and respect others, we are wasting an opportunity to leverage the power of that diversity. We can make assumptions, and stereotypes, about people based on their age, like younger people will be much better at embracing and using technology when compared to those that are older. But it’s important to remember that assumptions like this can have a real-life impact on our work teams.

Regardless of all the training and legislation, there are still many stereotypes and prejudices regarding LGBTQ+ co-workers. This can sometimes make it hard to come to work depending upon the attitudes and behaviors of co-workers. While we may not agree with every aspect of all of our co-worker’s personal lives, what we can agree on is that people need to be treated with respect and dignity.

This course provides a deeper dive into diversity situations and will assist learners in effectively tackling the individual and cultural differences that impact relationships with co-workers, customers and other stakeholders that are critical to the success of your organization.

Every organization in the United States is experiencing a new set of workplace dynamics based upon the phenomenon of multiple generations working together - either in its own workplace or in its clients, customers, and even supplier base. This course will encourage learners to look at what they are doing as an individual contributor within the organization to make the workplace one where people of all generations can do their best work.
