Description

Before we can prevent sexual harassment, we need to understand what is considered harassing behavior. The behavior must be unwelcome. The behavior can be very obvious or very subtle. It can be verbal or written, visual, or physical. Comments (innuendo) and body language can be clear indicators of harassing behavior.

While managers and supervisors are held to a higher legal standard in sexual harassment cases, sexual harassment prevention is everyone’s responsibility.

What it all comes down to is this - preventing sexual harassment is about recognizing what's going on around us and then making good decisions.

Preventing sexual harassment means making sure that we're treating employees, coworkers, customers, vendors - anyone we deal with in the workplace - with absolute dignity and respect.
